Pink Tiger was directly inspired by The Wharf and its lively community. We are quickly becoming on of the best Asian restaurants in DC. We aim to bring beautiful food, innovative beverages, a hint of retro nostalgia, and a whole lot of fun to the waterfront. Pink Tiger believes curiosity is everything—it’s what drives us to play, explore, and evolve on our own terms, in tune with the seasons, moods, and, most importantly, our guests.

Executive Chef Joseph Castro

Joseph Castro’s culinary journey began in his home country of the Philippines, where he grew up in a family of chefs—proving the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. His passion for cooking led him to pursue formal culinary education, studying both in the Philippines and Italy. Chef Castro openly shares that the passing of his father and the birth of his daughter, Jossephine, were pivotal moments in his life that ignited his drive to pursue the culinary arts with even more determination.

After relocating to the U.S., Castro refined his skills in high-energy hotel kitchens, working alongside renowned chefs such as the Voltaggio Brothers and Robert Wiedmaier.

Chef Castro assumed the role of Executive Chef at Pink Tiger, where he brings his expertise and innovative spirit to the restaurant’s dynamic menu. With his unique blend of creativity and dedication, Chef Castro continues to push the boundaries of flavor, providing guests with a dining experience that is both familiar and creative. In his spare time, Joseph is a family man first and can be found creating art, singing, and indulging his passion for automobiles.
